Educational Opportunities
An instructor since 1978, Janice's experience and knowledge allow her to offer several different options for people interested in pursuing music studies. Her philosophy is simple - create a safe and enjoyable learning environment where students can pursue their full potential.

| Janice was the inaugural Jazz Program Coordinator at the Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts and launched a number of exciting initiatives during her tenure at the M.C.M.A. Jazz Institute. She continues to instruct combos and classes at the M.C.M.A. |
| Janice has taught extensively in the public school system (Elmwood High School) and the private school system (Joseph Wolinsky Collegiate concert band director; University of Winnipeg Collegiate Jazz Program director). |
| Her past post-secondary teaching experience includes conducting the University of Manitoba's 4:30 Jazz Band and teaching theory, ear-training and sight-singing at the Professional Musicians' College. |
| As a member of the faculty, Janice has taught for many years at the University of Manitoba's Summer Jazz Camp and the M.B.A.'s Summer Concert Band camps. |
| Janice travels throughout Manitoba and neighbouring provinces as a an adjudicator for concert band, jazz band, small ensembles and instrumental soloists. She has twice adjudicated at the Brandon Jazz Festival (2002, 2007) |
| Janice has a Bachelor of Music Degree (Jazz Performance) from McGill University in Montreal. She graduated with high distinction as a saxophone major. |
