The M.C.M.A. Adult Jazz Combo

Many amateur adult jazz musicians find that they lack a place to learn and play jazz with their peers.  

The M.C.M.A. jazz combo addresses that need and is intended for adults who play an instrument at a moderate (or better) level of proficiency and who are interested in developing their jazz skills.  

The combo is directed by Janice Finlay in cooperation with the Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts.  Beginning in mid-September, the combo rehearses for two hours twice a month, with some rhythm section equipment provided. 

Besides offering members an enjoyable time making music with their peers, the intent of the group is to emphasize skill development over public performance.  Nonetheless, members look forward to year-end concert performances in early June and others as schedules permit.
